This Iron is the best £3 million player in the country

|

What is there to say about Craig Dawson other than he is the best £3 million player in the country.

That we bought the 31 year old from such a fee from silly Watford seems absolutely impossible given the level of performance we have seen from the guy since he joined us.

His importance as a back up central defender was never more ably demonstrated than yesterday when he appeared as a replacement for Angelo Ogbonna who left the action with what appeared to be a  twisted knee.

Dawson was totally awesome as Kurt Zouma’s partner and was brilliant up front presenting a threat which is forever potent as it was in Genk and previous games.

It’s astonishing that Watford weren’t giving him games for a long period before he joined the Hammers and that they were ready to let a guy with such a great pedigree leave so cheaply.

He and Vladi Coufal cost less than £10 million together and demonstrates what’s been happening at out club over the last 12-18 months.

Dawson was brilliant again yesterday and that one of our academy products is keeping Vladi out of the team demonstrates what this club is all about right now.

  • Trevor From England says:

Dawson was a bigger bargain than that……. he only cost £2 million!!

  • Budgie says:

Totally agree, did not notice any difference to our defence when he replaced Ogbonna. Our squad has much better backup than I anticipated plus they get reasonable game time due to Europa and Carebo Cup
