James Tomkins admits great disappointment with the manner of their defeat to Everton.
He told the club’s official website: “When we got back into the game and made it 1-1, we looked the stronger team so we’re disappointed to lose it in the end. The lads gave it all they had and towards the end we tried to play off Andy [Carroll].
“We showed a good effort and on most days we would have gone on from making it 1-1 to winning the game. It wasn’t to be and it’s a hard one to take.”
