Insiders have told ClaretandHugh that it is a tough call whether to remove the giant Payet shirt inside the stadium and the Dimi Payet sign featuring his song outside the London Stadium before Saturday’s game against Crystal Palace.
Payet’s refusal to play has caused anger amongst Hammers fans today and the fear is some of that anger may be directed to the large shirt hanging over the toilet block inside the Stadium concourse or the lyrics to Payet’s song attached to the outside of the Stadium. Both could be damaged or the target of graffiti which could create disorder which the stadium operators and club would be keen to avoid.
One Hammers fan writing on social media said ” They should never have been put up in the first place, ridiculous decision to appeal to newbie fans. It has backfired!”
Another supporter suggested the signs should be taken down and delivered to Payet’s house
Operators London Stadium 185 say it is not their call as West Ham have the right to brand the stadium but they say they would support the club’s decision if they decided to remove it.
Remove it and put it inside the toilet where we can all pee on it
Great idea. See if they replace it with a big 3d printed female organ too.
Just cover it with a plain one
It’d be sensible to get rid of it. Because there are a huge amount of fans who are very angry with him, and rightfully so.
We’ve had lots of boring bad press by the stadium sour grapes media boo boys, and anything happening to this, they’ll happily lap it up like the yawn-mongers they are.
Disgraceful treachery from Payet.
No question – it has to go. Sooner the better!
It might be sensible to take it down.I can see many fans going to it to launch various items at it.Me included if i am in a bad mood Saturday.
Leave it up im saving all my little girls used nappies to chuck at it 😂😂
Compact it all in a car crusher and deliver to his house. Tell him Paul Ince’s story and advise him to leave the country.
Lol IronMan.I really dont think he understands that he has peed off some fans that dont forget quickly 😉
