Scamacca – just typical !

Well, I’m afraid that’s just typical !

It was written in the stars that West Ham misfit Gianluca Scamacca  would score on his debut for Atalanta last night, after his recent move from the London Stadium

We did at least manage to claw back £27 million from the £30 odd million we paid for him when he came over from Sassuolo last year.

It was pretty obvious early on that he was not suited to our Supremo`s brand of football in particular and perhaps the hurly burly of the Premier League in general.

He will no doubt be more at home with the two up front format that Atalanta normally employs.

And at home, he certainly was – by scoring twice and nearly bagging a hat-trick , but his third goal was ruled out by VAR.

If memory serves, exactly the same ” score on debut” thing happened when we sold Sebastien Haller to Ajax in January 2021.
