Unhappy Bilic gives his verdict

|

angry-bilic-624x447Slaven Bilic  declared this afternoon’s draw against West Bromwich Albion a “fair result” but after a fine first half performance admitted: “We aren’t happy.”

And he believes that had we nicked another goal – our first half performance had deserved – that would have been enough to get the three points.

He: “The one goal lead gave them the confidence to come and have a go at us but for all that we created our chances and could have won it.

“In the end they got their goal and might have had another but I believe we could have gone on to win it so we are not happy.

“In the end though I have to admit that on the way the game went it was a fair result.”

Good summary, I am very annoyed with Bilic on two counts. Number One why did he replace Obiang with Carroll, Carroll is a sub to be used for the last 10-15 mins of a game. I think his decision to introduce him was a poor decision and I believe we lost our shape because of it. I think it cost us the game. I am getting very very worried by some of the decisions he is making. Also Jenks is a poor player, you cannot play football if you have a RB who is not a footballer. If Bilic does not see this, then I am afraid we are going to continue on this vein. Put young Oxford in now – what have we to lose. Jelavic is a poor purchase. Forget about him and give Antonio some game time, I would have brought him on instead of Carroll.

Moan ! If you think this is moaning well you don’t know what a moan is. This is common sense in most peoples eyes. Not everyone agrees for sure but how long more do we have to look at Jenks and Carroll. Come on…

In a post after last week’s match, I singled out four players as not being up to it. One of these players redeemed himself today (Zarate). I saw him involved, fighting for the ball, recuperating lost possessions, passing, taking shots, and netting in one with great skill and confidence. Bravo for bouncing back, but now on to see if the consistency can be there.

Carroll and Jenks were two others on my list of “it ain’t it”, and today was yet another confirmation. Carroll is still the shadow of the player we wish he would be, and Jenks is capable of wasting a nine meter pass. Even academy players can do better. And let’s not talk about placement and other faults. So yes, that needs to be addressed, and fairly quickly, because his credit is expiring and we need stability in defence.

As for Sakho’s injury, it will be worse for us than Payet’s. because we don’t have replacement solutions for him as we do for Payet. Maybe we should have Lee recalled from his loan ?
