David Moyes isn’t sure when Lucas Paqueta will be fit to resume for the Hammers but Claret and Hugh has received an unhappy update that he could be out for several weeks more.
Unhappy Paqueta update
The brilliant Brazilian is understood to have a calf issue and a source close to him revealed this morning he could be out for another four or five weeks.
In explaining that he wouldn’t be available for the match at Old Trafford on Sunday, the Hammers manager said there had been no more update in terms of injuries and that the club is still dealing with injured players. .
And he added that he had heard no more from the medical team to suggest that [Lucas Paquetá] is going to be back adding: “He’s been out for a few weeks and I don’t think he’ll be back for this weekend.
It’s a really quick turnaround from Thursday’s game. We’re getting ourselves back together quickly and hopefully everyone will come through okay.
He added that Michail Antonio is coming on and that is now running on the grass declaring that he hasn’t worked with or trained with the team but he’s training outside. I couldn’t give a projected return date at this moment though.
On the match at Old Trafford this Sunday he added: “We can play better, we know that, and the main thing I’m looking at is getting us playing better.
I gauge my team by our performances and that’s where I want to improve. In the main though, if my team is picking up points when we’re not doing as well then I can see that as a positive.”
