United keep Lingard guessing

|

By CandH’s northern correspondent Terry Robbins

Jesse Lingard is displaying a ‘spot on’ attitude at Manchester United and is preparing to start the new season with the club.

However, despite him being at the peak of his fitness a source revealed that  Ole Gunnar Soljskaer are continuing to keep him guessing over his Old Trafford future.

The reality is, however, that the 28 year old is focused on life at the club right now but will need to wait to see if he is to become one of those the club needs to sell as it reduces a £350 million wage bill – the highest in the country.

He will also be watching the situation with Paul Pogba carefully as much could depend whether he stays for a final year or signs a new deal.

West Ham have made it clear there have been no negotiations with the Reds on the attacking midfielder and that they, like the player himself, are waiting to see what happens on his future.

Yeah, I agree. And that’s just goid business practice. But we can’t afford to wait for this to play out. Antonio needs to be backed up

Hopefully he doesn’t sign a new contract ad we can pick him up in January for a reduced fee. He certainly is unlikely to join in this window.
