Legendary goalscorer Jimmy Greaves has suffered a major stroke that has put him intensive care.

His family have prmised a news update at the right time but in the meantime we remember Jimmy’s great season for West Ham back in 1970-71.

He joined us in in the March  valued at  £90,000 in a part-exchange deal which saw Martin Peters in the opposte direction.

He scored two goals on his Hammers debut on 21 March, in a 5–1 win against Manchester City at Maine Road.

    Hope he pulls through,
    Great he played for us pity he never came when he was younger,
    Not good business though loosing Peters with so much left to give the Hammers,
