I have to disagree with the comment that the 3 behind Zaza didn’t show any effort – I mean Payet hit the post, antonio showed the effort (shame about his final ball) and lanzini was also effective! We look best when Payet and Lanzini are close to each other, they just seem to always be on the same wave length. I thought we were easily the best team on the night, but also agree with the comments that Tony Gale made about that fact we should have gone to 2 strikers earlier in the game…. Still 3 points! COYI!

Erm, I think you boys proved how different a game looks and feels watching live, rather than the sofa. Honestly, I really enjoyed the game today, yeah it was very frustrating not to score earlier but you can’t say we weren’t having a go. We dominated most of the game, stats stacked in our favour and played some really tasty stuff. Payet was a contender for MOTM for me, only reason why he wasn’t was he wasted to much, but always looked dangerous. This formation is clearly better and great to watch. With a better striker making the right runs, we could of easily been 2-0 up at HT, no? Zaza I really want to prove the doubters wrong, but today just wasn’t good enough, 2/3 more games like this and he’ll be fourth in the pecking order. There were some solid performances today, but with an unconfident striker, a makeshift left full back and a formation being a “work in progress”, I think the boys did well. I love your live chats, agree with most of the things you’ve said this season, but today I don’t agree with any of it unfortunately. Like I said though, maybe the game is different on the eye in the flesh than it is on screen? Frustrating and wasteful, YES, Rubbish and Boring, NO WAY! The lads worked hard, clearly stuck to Slavs tactics and we were quite clearly the best team. CMON YOU IRONS! 🙂

Strange how some people see the game. I thought it was a good game. We were obviously the best team but we struggled to break down a team that was defending and time wasting for their lives. It became frustrating that we couldn’t find a way through but then the goal at the end was even better. Sweet satisfaction for our efforts. Payet was brilliant in the first half but faded in the second half, understandably really when you see him being targeted. Him and Lanzini take so many knocks. It must take its toll being kicked up in the air so much. We deserved that win big time. Sunderland came just to break up play, hold the game up, defend and waste time and hope to sneak a cheeky lucky Penalty or a Defoe winner in a crowded six yard box. Two clean sheets in a row is massive when your defence has been leaking goals like ours had. 7 points in 3 games and we have a bit of a foundation to build on now. Onwards and upwards. COYI.

I considered the goal at the end as karma. Reward for those of us supporters who stay loyal and support until the bitter end, or the glorious finish and final whistle as the case may be.

Yes you are right Slaven. It was a victory for those of us who stay till the final whistle.
The late goal left all of us buzzing. What a pity it is though that some fans cant enjoy that feeling on blogs who wasnt there & as soon as the final whistle goes they are already into slag the players & Bilic off mode.

Geo – Can’t believe you actually think West Ham are mugging Zaza off! Did you get a smack on the head on your way out of the stadium from a makem and lose your memory mate? And when we were leaking goals for fun, you had plenty of ideas as to how Slav could shore up the defence, like a back three with Obiang sat in front. Now he has addressed that part of our game, you’re all over the attacking three and blaming them for not supplying Zaza with tap-ins. The pressure was on yesterday, we were expected to win a home game against a side intent on killing the game from the outset. We did win, we kept a clean sheet and we did at the LS. All boxes ticked. The pace and flow will come as confidence continues to build and we have a mobile striker up front. So chill Geo!
