View from the OS cheap seats

|

A young illustrator called Corey Yexley-Alick has created an image of what the view from the Olympic Stadium cheap seats might look like in football mode. This image has been created as if the person was sitting in the very back row of the upper North stand which could possibly be those classed as band 5 and costing £289 for a season ticket.  It also highlights the potential problem that shadows may cause through the newly installed translucent roof.

Damn, you will need the Hubble SpaceTelescope to watch from there, not just binoculars 😉

  • WhuG says:

Unless they’re not showing something accurately that doesn’t look bad to me. No sign of the running track either. You get shadows wherever you go so what’s the prob?

  • TysonM says:

Guess its ok if your into watching Ant Football 😉

  • hammer4life says:

Tyson. If Sam gets a new contract you’ll be happy to be watching it through the Hubble Telescope

  • TysonM says:

Haha,i will be applying for a job on the International Space Station for a year if that happens 😀

  • HamburgHammer says:

Looks like a fish lens perspective pic to me, I suppose if you sat in person in that seat in the last row of the Upper Tier the view would be slightly better. i’ve seen one on KUMB from that position and it was perfectly fine in my opinion.
Personally I wouldn’t go behind the goal as I don’t like watching my football from that position, but I’d gladly go last row Upper Tier anywhere along the sides.
And I’d gladly pay for a season ticket, even if I won’t be able to make all home games.
But for me personally a season ticket would be worth already it if it gave me the chance to watch at least 5 games a season minimum.

Trust me, if you’ve ever been an away fan at St James’s Park, then this ain’t so bad!!

    • DJHammer says:

      Rocket engineers are go!

It’s like that at the Mastla in valencia me and Mrs B always say it’s like sitting with the gods
But it’s not as bad as you think,
But it’s like anything in life you get what you pay for
Sorrydid not want a that to sound as bad as it does but that’s life

  • HamburgHammer says:

Will normal fans living abroad actually be able to get a season ticket for the first season in the OS ? Or will they all be bought up by bondholders, season ticket holders and their respective mates and family members ?

  • bubs says:

That depend Hamburg on who is in charge and what sort of team you are watching,
But I could not get back enough to make it worthwhile to have one,
You should be able to get seats on a one off situation,
But that again will be who you are playing and how the teams is playing

  • HamburgHammer says:

I’ll just approach the club next season to ask if I can get a season ticket for 2016.
If they have one they will sell it to me, if they don’t, so be it.

  • Boys of '66 says:

Not sure mate,i think that tickets for the first year will be hard to get once everyone with priority has had their share.Difficult to gauge it.But if there is some left over why should you getting one because you live abroad be any different from anyone else trying to get one.It aint going to be Brit cash only pls is it,lol. But i dont look into these things too deeply, havnt really looked at it from your point of view. However im sure a ST Holder already could get you an opening into getting one for you.

  • TysonM says:

Theres a ST waiting list for the OS ST isnt there.Thats what my mate said.He aint a ST Holder atm, just buys game by game because he works saturdays sometimes.Im sure he mentioned it to me though.Look on the official site H,im sure it will have it on there 😉

  • Stuck On 99 Forever! says:

Nah,theres a waiting list you can join for next seasons ST but if you miss out, which i suspect many will, you can have the opportunity to go on the waiting list again for the first season at the OS.

  • mattefumi is waiting for 24 May says:

If I had money for ST and air tickets… Please sam be charitable…lol
I hope next year to have the opportunity to go to any of the games… It would be fantastic.
If Sam stays I mean… Lol

  • Wembley1980 says:

Wow, that reminds me so much of the view I had at Wembley in 1980! Standing at the back of the tunnel end, when Sir Trev scored we needed a guy with a radio to tell us who’d got the goal.

  • englandsnumber6 says:

Another completely pointless post that just adds more scaremongering why on earth do these muppets post imaginary photos knowing the idiotic replys will just alienate fans towards the club. Watching Ant football and needing binoculars , these idiotic replys are from people who will probably never attend, i have been to the stadium and the furthest away seat was no worse than where Newcastle or man u put away fans and as for shadows next time it’s sunny at uptown park look at the pitch half the pitch is in shadow and half the fans can’t see because of blinding sun . Well done for ****in off more fans with total tripe posts

  • StingRay Stewart says:

Oh here we go,another man with a sense of humour failure.Didnt know we had so many lame,humour-free idiots support our club. But to be fair you do have history on here dont you 6.Visiting from another site i assume.Wonder which one that could be.Answers on a postcard pls guys 😀

  • tysonm says:

F*ck you No.6,i was just joking,im sure no one takes these comments with such earthshattering seriousness as you.As for never going i have been an ST Holder for years,so yeah i will be attending. But thanks for your input, most appreciated. As sting said, you have history coming here having a dig.Englands No.6 my ass, more like a bitter old man 😉

  • Rads says:

Hmmm, well if it is no different from Newcastle that is no recommendation because that is like being in the gods & then some, yes i have been there thanks No.6.I assume its ok to say that Englandno.6 without being a scaremonger.I would hate to think my opinion scared thousands of fans away from the club.Oh & i will be going as a ST Holder, not that whether people go or not should stop them having an opiniom or banter about a picture. As for being Englands No.6,i think you are more Jagielka than Moore 😉

  • mattefumi is waiting for 24 May says:

Honestly I’m always quite perplexed reading some posts like that of englandsnumber6… There’s no need for that, football is not a matter of life or death, maybe for someone yes… mah… irony is synonymous with intelligence…

  • Twinkle Toes Nolan says:

Thats it i wont be going now.Not after these terrible posts,it has put me off the experience all together, ffs, wear some bigger boxer shorts No.6,maybe it wont get your balls so tight you explode like this on forums!!

  • Boys of '66 says:

Pffff, some people amuse me how they get so hot under the collar about something so trivial & unimportant.Must have visited from that site we dare not mention with damp patches in their groin area 😉

  • gavros says:

The view shown here is from the ‘dead zone’, the 19000-odd seats that will (at least initially) be tarped off and not accessible to fans. The view from the worst seat currently going on sale will be better than that.

Still, I do think that over time the club will aim to increase capacity by using up some if not all of the dead zone seats.

  • Gavros, the 19,000 seats will be tarped off to meet UEFA Category 4 standards

  • Boys of '66 says:

Easy to guess who englandsno6 is now,the same **** moaning about people mentioning telescopes & having a moan up on wetpants, lol, ffs there are some sad humourless people on this planet.Get a life,go find your funny bone you have clearly lost along with your sense of perspective. Its a ****ing football stadium, nothing more, nothing less!!!

  • StingRay Stewart says:

It is what it is mate, some people are serious, some are laidback. You have some guys think they are The Guardians Of West Ham United..Boring,miserable *******s 🙂

  • Stuck On 99 Forever! says:

Aint that the truth,i despair of these folk who need to be so serious about a football club.Yes it is our love & passion but lets be realistic here, its a stadium, nothing to get your veins popping in your neck, dopey idiots, lol
