Gonzo took his young son to his frst ever Irons game yesterday and the little lad left saying: “If only we’d gone to another game.”
Theat’s where we’ve got to with even the youngste among us knowing that this is about as bad as it can get – to quote skipper Mark Noble.
In Gozo’s latest Matchday Experience vlog we see the pre match hopes and highs before reality bites with a vengeance.
The good news was that problems within the stadium appear to have been overcome – now it’s down to the team and manager to solve theirs.
Last night on the train packed with West Ham supporters, we came to Harlow Town and a bloke got up to leave with his young son of maybe four or five, the kid was decked out in his West Ham shirt.
As they waited for the doors to open the kid pipes up with ‘Dad, why are West Ham so rubbish!’ – everyone laughed and shook their heads – it was definitely a case of ‘out of the mouth of babes!’
Dont worry son of Gonzo, my first game as a seven year old we also lost at home, 2-0 to Leyton Orient. You will soon get use to it! Expect nothing and you wont be dissapointed.
