Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger can forget any thoughts he may have had of recalling Carl Jenkinson from West Ham as a possible replacement for Matthieu Debuchy.
Irons fans have feared that the Gunners right back could have a clause in his loan deal allowing the north Londoners to recall him in emergency.
Bit ClaretandHugh has established that is not possible under Premier League rules.
A spokesman for the PL made it clear that no player on a year’s loan can be taken back to his parent club before the next transfer window.
He explained: “The rules state clearly that any player on a year’s loan deal can only return within a transfer window.
Jenkinson therefore is a Hammers player until January and in all likelihood until next summer.
Well that’s a relief, until January anyway. But I can’t believe that wenger hadn’t considered all options before allowing jenkinson out on loan?
Especially as I am so looking forward to us being able to field a back four of cresswell, Reid, tomkins and jenkinson. First choice back four for me.
He will be gone by Jan1st if he performs for us you can bet your house on it,but with a it of luck we will be safe by then with our new attacking style, then we can look for a centre half and a right back to keep BS happy
