West Ham have this morning admitted they have made a first inquiry for Watford’s £20 million rated striker Odion Ighalo.

The Express had reported a bid was on for the summer but a top Irons insider revealed exclusively to ClaretandHugh: “We have already inquired but Watford aren’t ready to sell at the moment.

“He could be on the radar again in the summer but then so could several others – we are determined to secure a 20 goals a season striker and are working on several options.

“We have certainly made an inquiry for Ighalo and will continue monitoring him – mind you he has dried up over recent games!”

The 26-year-old Nigerian has been in good form this season, scoring an impressive 13 goals in the Premier League.

He impressed the Irons forthe first time during their 2-0 defeat at Vicarage Road when Ighalo scored both goals during an outstanding display.
