West Ham Cup game to televised

|

West Ham’s Carabao Cup second-round tie at Newport County will be broadcast live in the UK by Sky Sports.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side will make the 360 miles round trip to Rodney Parade on Tuesday 27th August, with kick-off at 7.45pm.

The two clubs have played each other three times in their history, each winning once and drawing the other fixture in 1947 in the old Division two. The last meeting was back in January 1979, when then-Fourth Division Newport prevailed 2-1 in an FA Cup third-round tie at Somerton Park.

West Ham’s away allocation is likely to be just 1,030 which the same allocation Leciester City received when they played them last season. Spurs got an increased allocation of 1,600 after Newport installed 600 temporary seats for the game against North London but that is unlikely to happen again.

With 800 bondholders and 700 away ticket holders, this game is unlikely to reach season ticket holders with priority points or a ten per cent ballot.
