West Ham dogged by decisions

|

\

West Ham have had a series of decisions go against them since lockdown and VAR has not helped the situation.

Decisions against the Hammers

VAR Fails to rule out a handball in the build up to Spurs goal after a clear handball from Davinson Sanchez in the build-up.

VAR rules out Tomas Soucek goal against Chelsea when Michail Antonio was on the floor not interfering with play

No red for awful Tarkowski challenge on Jarrod Bowen  in the West Ham game against Burnley

No red card against Andy Carroll elbow on Tomas Soucek last Saturday and one Jeff Hendrick ‘handball’ not given against Newcastle United

One possibly two penalties not given by VAR against Arsenal last night.

Last night David Moyes said “We feel we were let down once again  tonight by decisions, very, very fine margin on the first goal, then a handball, on Saturday we had one players hand that was given as well, we are not going to use them as excuses but if we don’t bring them up and we don;t make people aware. We had a tough night tonight and very tough decisions have gone against us which probalby could have seen us winning the game”

So what’s new, happens far too much against us and other lower teams, it’s got to stop as Clubs will be relegated and lose millions in the process and no one is held to account, getting fed up with it

Only the top six teams ever get a decision . Clear handball and I would like to see the offside decision again . If it had been a top club there would have been 10 different lines and set squares out . It was very tight but decision made in 10 secs . Great if it was correct but was it ?? It will not improve until we get the right people running VAR .. not poor refs who are the reason VAR is there but people who know the rules , have no bias and are not swayed by size of team .

ManU got dinged twice yesterday by VAR. The first was the awarding of a penalty kick for a handball, no more or less of a penalty than that of the Arsenal defender, and again on the subsequent save by De Gea.
VAR is being used inappropriately. American Football has a centralized system for viewing with multiple refereeing experts to make the calls. Competent, consistent and accountable.
VAR could be the great equaliser, but that is not what the Top 6 generally want.

VAR is now being used to hide the decision making process instead of making it transparent and the perceived biases that were here before VAR, are strikingly apparent now, with the decisions being made now fluctuating wildly…
But against teams outside the top six.
