West Ham Eyes Young Talent

|

West Ham United has reportedly joined the race to sign talented Argentine attacker Valentin Carboni, currently on loan at Monza from Inter Milan.

The 19-year-old has impressed during his loan stint at Monza, contributing two goals and four assists in 26 appearances across various competitions. While primarily a substitute, he’s showcased his abilities in limited playing time.

Despite his few starts, Carboni averages 0.7 shots, 0.8 key passes, and 0.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He demonstrates an 85% pass success rate, highlighting his composure in the final third (stats via whoscored).

West Ham faces competition from Brentford and potentially other clubs for Carboni’s signature. His contract with Inter Milan runs until 2028, making a bargain deal unlikely.

Carboni possesses clear potential. His ability to create space, craft opportunities, and dribble effectively makes him an attractive prospect. However, concerns exist regarding his ability to adapt to the Premier League‘s intensity.

He could definitely bolster West Ham’s attacking options, helping us to compete across competitions. His long-term potential makes him a valuable investment for the future. But at £15m , I think it would take a leap of faith from the board  to bring him in
