West Ham failure close to Juventus deal

West Ham failure may move again for free

Here’s a story that might elicit groans of frustration from most Hammers fans. Former West Ham misfit Felipe Anderson could be on the verge of a significant career move as Lazio’s winger is reportedly linked to Juventus.

The Brazilian is set to become a free agent next summer as his contract in the Italian capital expires. According to La Repubblica, Juventus is keen on seizing the opportunity and is considering offering Anderson a £3.5 million per year deal at the Allianz Stadium.

Anderson cost West Ham a fortune in lost transfer fees

West Ham failure Felipe Anderson

Since returning to Lazio in 2021 after an unsuccessful stint with West Ham, the 30-year-old has showcased impressive performances. During his time with the Hammers, Anderson made 73 appearances, scoring 12 goals, and providing 23 assists.

Last season proved to be particularly fruitful for Anderson as he played a pivotal role in helping Lazio secure a spot in the Champions League, contributing nine goals and six assists.

There is uncertainty in Rome regarding whether the former Hammer will sign a new deal with Lazio, given Juventus’s reported interest.

This news is undoubtedly frustrating for the West Ham board, who had negotiated a sell-on clause for the player. The Hammers suffered a significant financial loss when they initially purchased Anderson for £36 million, only to see him depart for a mere 10% of that sum.

Despite possessing undeniable talent, neither Manuel Pellegrini nor David Moyes could unlock the player’s full potential during his time at West Ham. Even during his loan spell in Portugal, concerns were raised about the player’s attitude and the influence of his representatives.

Not sure you are seen as being a failure if you are signing for Juventus. He was terrific for us until Moyes decided he was not for him. A talented player, imagine him on the left and kudus on the right with paqueta in the midfield providing the ammunition.

I just really couldn’t give a monkeys. He’s had talent, never settled, move on. Focus on the team we have. Unless this transfer has a knock on fee for west ham, why bother report it?!

I agree with Johnham1. Moyes could buy Neymar and turn him into a failure… These players sign with us, expecting to be able to continue playing the way they did to make them stars… “Not here, sonny. You’ll play the dour, turgid, pragmatic bull**** that I insist you play, in a position you don’t like. I call it Moyesball”.

Although, to be fair, David’s done alright the last two games. Long may it continue. Has he been lucky? Have the players decided between them to speed up? Or is Moyesie demonstrating that he is in fact one hell of a coach that’s guided us through a tough spell?
