West Ham fans return in thousands

|

Last night’s West Ham League cup game against Manchester City saw the return of thousands of Hammers supporters who had never visited the London Stadium.

Up to 5,000 supporters who had previously purchased a ticket at the Boleyn Ground but never at the London Stadium purchased tickets for last night.

A record number of new fans who had never previously purchased a ticket for a West Ham game also came in person for the game.

The pricing strategy, half term, the opposition and the Hammers current form all played a part in this record League Cup sell-out game of 60,000.

For those experiencing the London Stadium for the first time, what a game it was and some great memories to take home with them.

Manchester City were unbeaten in 1,827 days in the competition before Wednesday’s result after they won the trophy four years in a row, but there is now guaranteed to be a different name on the trophy which could well be West Ham.
