In April West Ham fans taunted Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge by suggesting he is off to Madrid.
Hazard was quizzed about the Hammers fans chants post-match, without making eye contact with the reporter an unconvincing Hazard made a nervous laugh and said ‘Nah They are wrong, now I am focused with Chelsea until the end of the season, I just want to finish top four of the league, we still have a lot to do’
Earlier today Real Madrid announced they had agreed a deal to sign forward Eden Hazard from Chelsea for a fee that could exceed £150m. Hazard has agreed a five-year contract and will be presented as a Real player on 13 June, subject to a medical.
Real Madrid are paying an initial 100m euros (£89m) for the attacking midfielder, though bonus payments could see Chelsea receive at least another £60m.
So the West Ham fans were right all along!
Hazard was a fantastic player for the Premier League and has always been a pleasure to watch – except when playing us, of course. Good luck to him. Always enjoyed watching his Uncle Mickey play for Spurs, too.
Chelsea fan in peace … but you really think this is worth a story? It was nearly certain he was moving but it was clear he wasn’t going to confirm anything, so his deflection in the interview was no surprise.
And as for taunting players of Hazard’s ability – didn’t work out too well on the day! 😉
I wrote this not Hugh, West Ham fans were instrumental in this transfer lol
Slow news day hugh lol
