Club insiders have denied any interest in signing Fenerbahce captain Hasan Ali Kaldirim following an earlier report by the BBC.
The BBC claimed the Hammers have spoken to the player’s agent and the Turkey international Kaldirim is keen on a move to the Premier League. The left-back, who was linked with West Ham in 2017, has a 5m euro (£4.42m) release clause in his contract, which expires in 12 months’ time. The 29-year-old has been at Fenerbahce since 2012, having previously played for Kayserispor.
Speaking to Claret and Hugh exclusively via Email earlier today a senior source rubbished the latest speculation by saying there “No interest at the moment”
The left-back position is not a priority this summer with Manuel Pellegrini happy with the competition provided by Arthur Maskuaua and Aaron Cresswell.
The Hammers have already rebuffed an approach by Everton for Aaron Cresswell and unlikely to be tempted to let either player go unless a massive overvaluation bid was received.
Cresswell and Massuaku not good enough – papering over cracks yet again! 👇
I agree with Kenny. There may be competition for MP between Cresswell and Masuaku but it’s like me and another fat old bloke ‘competing’ in the 100m – we may be nip and tuck all the way to the ambulance, but it would be between 2 who are just not competitive at the top level. Both Cresswell and Masuaku seem like tidy guys but both, in my opinion, seem to get caught out defensively at crucial times. A new LB to go straight into the team, a CF (please can Cheatarito have Easyjet priority boarding to Valencia) and a box to box midfielder would be in my wish list. My wish list also includes Jennifer Lopez – ever the optimist! COYI
