West Ham are looking to sign right back Darly Janmaat from relegated Newcastle, according to several reports in the media over the past few days.
The Hammers are said to be desperate to provide back up to Sam Byram which if true should indicate Slaven Bilic has admitted defeat in his Michail Antonio right back experiment. West Ham are expected to face competition from both Watford and Napoli to land the right back. Janmaat has four years left on his contract but it is claimed he could be available for just £3m.
Rafa Benitez left Janmaat out of his squad for yesterday’s game against Bristol City. For the second successive game, Benitez fielded Vurnon Anita out of position at right-back. Asked about Janmaat’s absence, Benitez said: “I have to pick the best players for the game. In this case, I thought Anita did well the other day (against Reading), and I wanted to stick with him.”
Looked good last year against us and we need someone so go and get him,
Then go get the forward or forwards we need,
Bony, with Barahino or Remy no un tried foreign players now
Sell Valencia and Sak for every penny we can get and get Sicknote fit and sell him in January even for a massive loss,
We need action now in the n next 3-5 days
Anything can happen in the next half hour ???
We would need international rescue to achieve that bubs !!! ( smiley)

Should work if you do colon dash close brackets sign (the curved one such as the one at the end of this) all joined together that’s what I do for it.
It is the 1st mention of WHU looking for RB, I think, and if so, I’m delighted. IM(biased)O, Antonio playing in an attacking role is the eqivalent of WHU signing a 40-50m player. AND getting a superb RB in the name of Byram! And at no cost whatsoever. I’m completely perplexed by why Slav doesn’t seem to have faith in Byram….Maybe it was more Slav wanting to play Antonio as an overlappping full back – which was how we called John MDowell and Frank Lampard senio in the Greenwood days – which was not so much a lack of faith in Byram, but that he had expected Antonio would be so much better? Who knows; he never says. Whatever, I’m now chuffed. Even with alll the injuries, I still think we can hold up. I reckon Fletcher will prove a fantastic striker – and we still have to see how Martinez plays…I think we have a good squad, and some great youth players. Even, Obiang; not the greatest, but does a v good stand in role. I’m not depressed or negative now we have Mr Dynamite in an attacking role. OK; it might get bumpy – even if we only get a draw today and lose to Man City (which I don’t think will happen; I can see 4 points), I still think we can do well….
But Janmaat? Not for me; calamity player as far as I am concerned….er…er…so just how good was Newcastle’s defence last season? Personally, I’d like to see Burke as 2nd choice, even though he is not a natural RB. But, I feel I can move a tiny bit back to trusting Slav again…
Incidentally, I’m not keen on Bony. He’s done nothing at City, despite plenty of opportunity. And as he’s going to China in Jan, just how committed is he going to be? He’d have nothing to prove, just avoid getting injured badly. And at £100-120k per week? Not for me. Give Fletch a go. I reckon he’ll shine.
I’m also v relieved we did not go for Benteke; dodged a bullit, I reckon, but sad we didn’t get Bolasie. I’d have preferred him over Ayew, although they are not like for like. Not massively convinced by Tore…yet. But, whatever, there’s loads to be happy about, even with the injuries. If all the squad was fit, Slav would have a huge selection headache; now, it gives the opportunity for others to shine…
I really hope this is true and we do sign him I think the way Jaanmaat plays is exactly the way Bilic wants Antonio to play, he is better in possession of the ball than Antonio and would link up well with the attack, like Antonio because he joins up with attack there are spaces to exploit behind but unlike Antonio he can defend.
