West Ham ratings at Brighton

|

Brighton 1 West Ham 3

Areola: Magnificent performance with five fine stops and one near the end outstanding. Looks to have nailed his position as No 1. Great performance.10

Coufal: Almost set up a goal early with a throw-in and was his usual excellent self throughout 8

Zouma: Superbly marshalled the defence which was absolutely outstanding apart from the Grob goal which should have been closed down 9

Alvarez: Very good first start, great passer and good defensive work, the guy also has quick feet and an imposing presence 8

Oggy: Didn’t put a foot wrong. Very good performance like the rest of the defenders. 8

Emerson: Better going forward when he often looked very good but produced some good defensive clearances and tackles as well 8

Soucek: Difficult to give a rating after he received a head injury and left the action for Benrahma

Ward-Prowse. Great set pieces of course, nice goal, good passer. Looks a very good signing 8

Paqueta: He is such a good player – clever flicks and set ups. For a guy with an FA probe hanging over him he shows real form and character 9

Bowen: Worked his socks off all afternoon and capped it all with a fine goal 8

Antonio: Outstanding performance. Led the line brilliantly, scored one great goal and could have had another. One of his best performances in a long time 10

Subs:

Benrahma: Produced a magnificent assist for Antonio’s goal and excelled at times 8

Fornals, Kehrer, Ings. Late arrivals – no ratings
