West Ham say no to ridiculous Arnautovic offer

|

The brothers Grimm

West Ham have made it clear this afternoon that Marko Arnautovic is not for sale at a crazy price of around £19 million!

Reports that a Chinese club have bid for the striker are true but the asking price is of no interest to the Hammers following an offer last summer of £35 million.

Sky Sports News were first on the scene with the news that the 30 year old is allegedly asking for a transfer although at this stage there is no confirmation of that being the case.

However, he and his brother are being tempted by the offer from the orient which would see them both involved in a get rich quick exercise at the club’s expense given the absurd offer which has been received.

ClaretandHugh was told by a senior source inside the club via e mail that the offer was between £19m to £22m and that there was no question of it being accepted.

We were told:” The player signed a new deal with the club in January and we expect him to honour his contract.”

Get them to throw a few more million on and sell for 22m.

  • Mike says:

Who do these arnautovic clowns think they are? They seemed to have learnt nothing from January’s fiasco, at least it’s happened now and can be sorted out pre season. But the club are absolutely right – pay the money Chinese club and then we will willingly get rid.

  • Kevin says:

He’s not worth 20mil . So take the money and be happy for it .

    Deja vu, all over again!

When will these clubs ever learn that the shortermism of bribing players, is exactly that!

4FF Dec 2018> Accept any decent price to get rid, asap.

4FF Jul 2019> Accept any decent price to get rid, asap.

The guy has trouble wriiten all over his face…….

Why do people persist in blaming his brother, anyway.

An agent’s role is to advise, not instruct

  • Russell A says:

Sell him, he’s only had 2 good half seasons for us. He’s really not worth the drama or the hassle. Have we not learnt anything from that muppet payet? Take as much,as we can get and buy a decent forward

I would be shocked if Arnie has submitted a transfer request so I am just accepting that a bid has been lodged and the bid has been rejected. I am assuming this and until such time as I am told for sure then I am 100% behind Arnie. If a club wants to bid for one of our players that is not the players fault. I think its time we moved on in a positive manner (again I am assuming no transfer request has been submitted). I would say Arnie himself would have a good laugh at a bid of 19-22 million and probably disgusted by that offer. Rafa is getting 12m a year so if clubs can afford to pay managers this then I would assume they can pay 50-60m in transfer fees which is what it would cost to replace Arnie. Lets move on together.

    • Dom says:

Why would it cost 50-60m to replace Arnautovic? Jovic went for 50 odd and he’s 10 times the player. Gomez is available for 35-40m. Another striker. I’m sure there are many more examples. Merega at 30m is an actual striker who’s 2 years younger than Marko and wants to play for us. Marko has scored about as many per season as Carlton Cole used to and people used to slate him.

The offer is an insult , however if we get anywhere near 35 million I would sell. If not he can sit in the reserves and throw his career away . After a new offer we are treated like that by him and his brother , no respect .

  • johnny says:

Get rid never like player he walks around thinking he’s hard man I bet he upsets players in dressing room GET RID.

  • Hollywood Hammer says:

I bet everyone wishes we had taken that original offer ,last season now.

  • John says:

We need to be hard-headed here…Hold out for a bit more, £19m is an opening offer. But he has to go. Has been paid a fortune since Xmas to pout and underperform. Also Chicharito. Get the income then invest in Rondon + a young forward hungry to succeed.

  • Hammerkip says:

Sorry for the language Hugh but the blokes a wxxxxx, but you can’t sell him for that price ..as Mark says above if they get anywhere closer take it and get rid ..he is toxic and not worth the aggro
