Michail Antonio’s time at West Ham United appears to be coming to an end. According to reports, the club is not expected to extend his contract, which expires in June, allowing the 34-year-old striker to leave on a free transfer.

Antonio has been a cornerstone of West Ham’s attack under David Moyes, serving as the first-choice striker for several years. He holds the record for most Premier League goals scored for the club (67) and has amassed a total of 82 goals in 305 appearances across all competitions.

This news coincides with David Moyes’ impending departure upon contract expiration in June. West Ham is actively searching for replacements for both manager and striker.

The club has reportedly made inquiries about Panathinaikos striker Fotis Ioannidis and maintains a long-term interest in Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke, who could command a transfer fee of £50 million.

While Antonio has been a crucial figure for West Ham, his 2023-24 campaign has been hampered by a knee injury that sidelined him for nearly three months. He has managed only seven goals and two assists across all competitions.

Overall, West Ham seems poised to bid farewell to a club legend in Michail Antonio. The upcoming summer transfer window will be crucial for the Hammers as they seek to replace both their manager and their star striker.

A true west ham legend. Along the lines of Alan Taylor, Trevor brooking and Frank lampard.

  • 14 says:

I’ll be sad to see him go. By far the most influental player during the LS era of West Ham.

  • Steve says:

A legend to compare to brooking and lampsrd senior!? Not fit to lace their boots. Nowhere near. Nice lad, devent player.
Bowen, noble, rice are way ahead of him at the OS

    • Carol Cheshire says:

About time to get rid of Antonio. Seemed to spend most of his time falling over.
Why do the desk jockies at WH not bring in local lads like Brooking and Noble? When we had local lads they would fight for the club.

Again another load of nonsense is being reported as fact . Antonio signed a contract extension in September 2023 until 2025 with the option of another year . Honestly Simon it really isn’t hard to fact check these things. Sean even reported on it at the time on this site .

    • Andrew Thomson says:

Worth keeping if he continues in present form . From attacking full back tho striker always puts a shift in.

  • John eastman says:

Personally would keep Antonio as a valid squad member ne good as a impact player
