According to reports on website France Football West Ham are showing interest again in a young french player called Morgan Sanson. The player has been scouted by the Hammers since 2015 and the club were linked last February for a move to sign the young talent.
The 22 year old French midfielder is currently playing at Montpellier where he has scored 3 goals and contributed 7 assists in 20 appearances this season. The article suggests the Hammers are prepared to pay up to 6 million Euros for the player.
Playing for Montpellier since 2013, the French Under 21 international has managed to establish himself as a powerhouse for La Paillade in a playmaking/attacking midfielder role. According to RMC, he has been targeted by Borussia Dortmund, Bournemouth, West Bromwich Albion, Olympique Lyon and Olympique Marseille.
His contract with the Ligue 1 side runs until June 2018 although his club might be tempted by an offer around 7.5 million euros.
The player himself is unfazed by recent speculation saying: “I have read a lot of things, but, as I have already said, I am remaining 100% concentrated on Montpellier for the moment. I am coming back well, I am savouring it, but I remain truly concentrated in order to continue my progression and I work everyday with Montpellier in my head.”
I would much rather go for Gregoire Defrel from Sassuolo.
We have Fernandes who plays that role and Lanzini so I would say we have it covered. The transfr system is a joke these days, Wenger had it right when he said it is wrong fr the game that all the big clubs are just stockpiling talent where it doesn’t have the chance to ever get in the first team. They should change the youth set up completely so that teams cannot stockpile talent, deliberately keep those team numbers small i.e. a max 20 or so and they can use players from the other teams whenever they are short or can use an emergency loan system. As it is the academies at the top clubs have 100’s of these players often loaning out many of them, it is effectively a racket which is probably why Abramovich is one of the worst culprits. Despite Wengers claims he is also culpable, look at what they do with their young players force them to sign contracts just so as they can loan them out again with no realistic chance of ever being a first team player… Jenkinson is a prime example as was Henri Lansbury before he got fed up with it and numerous others.
British with premier league experience ?
Must be true.
