West Ham third kit officially released

|

ThirdkitW199est Ham United’s Commemorative 2016/17 Thames Ironworks Kit officially went on sale today ahead of its debut at Sunday’s friendly game against Juventus at the former Olympic Stadium.

As revealed by ClaretandHugh last week the Commemorative Kit was inspired by one of the very first shirts to be worn by Thames Ironworks FC in 1897.

Featuring a navy blue design with Union Jack badge, the kit represents the ship builders who founded the Club. Because the third kit does not have a West Ham crest it is referred to as a Commemorative shirt and cannot be used for competitive matches, so the Juventus match will be the only game it is used for.

Nice but imho it looks more like a West Ham branded t-shirt not a kit..the price is high for a one game use, its a if you dont like it dont buy it.

Top, the third kit is my favourite one. 😉

  • hammersfan01 says:

Surely they could have put the club crest on somewhere unobtrusive (arm? between shoulder blades?) so as to be able to use it in competitive games?

  • Antman says:

I think its class & you know what if some fans dont like it or think it’s too expensive then dont buy the thing. Its pretty simple.

That is the nuts, I hadn’t planned on buying a shirt this season, but will be now.

  • Eddie says:

I agree with the majority of you,it it is the nuts, the dogs, the business.Whatever other descriptions that are available.A real winner in my eyes.I love the badge & yep,as you folks have pointed out you don’t have to buy it.I think I will certainly be one of the mugs, idiots, fools that buy one,it looks brilliant imho.

We really do have some thick fans who are moaning about this saying we shouldnt be playing in it because it isn’t C&B.What dont they understand in the sentence ‘It can’t be used in competitive matches’ lmao

  • Sams P45 says:

Has no one told the fans who dont like it they dont have to buy it.You aint obliged to have the dough robbed from your bank account.Personally I like it & will be buying it.Dark colours are good, they hide cold nipples well during the winter months haha 😀

Official site states: “The Commemorative Kit echoes the very first to be worn by Thames Ironworks FC – the Hammers’ forerunners – and will mark the official opening of the Club’s new home on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, as well as being worn during our FA Cup campaign.”

This implies it will be worn competitively, in our FA Cup games, no?
