West Ham transfer rumours update

|

West Ham may have as many as twenty irons in the fire, as exclusively revealed to Claret & Hugh via a club source. But the players being linked with the Hammers have remained much the same. Truth be known, I can’t see much business being concluded until the Declan Rice deal is finalised despite the numerous West Ham transfer rumours.

For those of you who just can’t get enough of this stuff, here’s the latest transfer news & gossip.

Gianluca Scamacca

He’s happy at West Ham but also dreams of returning home to boyhood club Roma. Scamacca has rubbished rumours that he’s unsettled in East London, but has let slip his desire to play under Jose Mourinho.

Hammers manager David Moyes is keen to keep hold of the player and incorporate him into his first team plans. It may well turn out to be a marriage of convenience given the Italian clubs paucity of funds.

Denis Zakaria

It’s on, it’s off . . . oh no, it’s back on again! I’m not sure anyone really knows about this rumour. He’s available for sale and we want to buy him apparently. Juventus have a valuation of £15 million so what’s the hold-up?

The word on the grapevine is that West Ham would prefer a loan.

Alex Scott (not that one)

The prodigiously gifted promising youngster who interests everyone, but evidently nobody has bid for.

He’s a really good player, but your guess is as good as mine.

The West Ham transfer rumours include Alex Scott AGAIN!

Harvey Barnes

Moyes number one target depending on what website you read (obviously you’re currently reading this one).

Barnes is perfect for Moyes. He’s a Bowen clone albeit a right footed one and minus a song about his nocturnal habits.

He fancies Newcastle and they fancy him back . . . .awww, how lovely. Unfortunately Newcastle only fancy him to the tune of £20m and Leicester want £50m worth of affection.

Luiz Felipe

No, I hadn’t heard of him either.

He’s the Brazilian born, Brazilian raised defender who used to be a midfielder and plays in Spain. Qualifies to represent for Italy because his great, great grandfather once cooked some pasta.

Anyway, talks are at an advanced stage but my mate Dave said he’s prone to an error or two (should fit in nicely).

James Ward Prowse

His price is reducing faster than an out of date apple on black Friday.

The set-piece taker extraordinaire is available for a bargain £20m! To put that into perspective, that’s the value of 2.3 Jordan Hugil’s.

Youssef En-Nesyri

Okay, I sort of made that one up. But a transfer window isn’t really official until we’ve been linked with the Moroccan forward.

Zakaria: Typical WH- looking for Petticoat Lane bargains.

The only player on that list I would sign permanently is Scott, already showing he can be a top player. Zakarie as an initial loan perhaps yes, after that they are all quite average signings imo. They dont improve us enough to sign them. If Moyes signs WP, is he any better than Fornals, if Fornals is played in his best position in a midfield 3 of say Alvarez, Paqueta and Fornals, we have a top midfield that ompetes with any in the PL. Fornals is imo a better footballer and team player, more athletic etc. I hope Moyes has that opinion !!! There is the argument that we could offer both Downes and Ings in a deal to get ward prowse. I would not be so unhappy then about signing wp but not as a straight deal.
