The internal battle over West Ham’s winger options seems likely to go to the wire over differences between the manager and the recruitment team, as we wrote earlier this morning. Whilst Nuno is keen on Reiss Nelson its seems that other don’t share his enthusiasm.
Indeed, if reports are anything to go by, another target from last week has re-emerged as being under consideration: Perhaps this is ‘the one’ which both coach and recruiting team can get behind.

Largie Ramazani – can play across the front line and seen as an excellent choice for West Ham in the championship: But will Leeds loan him?
Confirmed this morning by ExWHUEmployee, Leeds’ Largie Ramazani – as we suggested last week- is seen as an attractive option.
According to “Ex”:
“Interestingly, a new name that has come into the mix for the winger position is another Leeds player..This time it is Largie Ramazani, the Belgium under-21 international who spent last season on loan at Valencia scoring 6 goals in 27 league games.”
However this approach to Leeds is problematic, inasmuch as Leeds were reported as only wanting to sell Ramazani, not send him out on loan. As we wrote last week, “Deportivo de La Coruña inquired, but they end up signing Adama [Traore].
Valencia CF has wanted him on loan all summer, but as of August 26, Leeds still won’t budge: It has to be a sale.”
Looks like it will go down to the wire, then, with the Hammers sitting on the fence with multiple options for multiple positions. Could be a busy old Tuesday at the Hammers’ medical centre. Just as long as it’s not a classic West Ham misfire on deadline day with nobody through the door.
Seems yet another winger is being looked at, I thought a team would only need 2 but WHU now believe we need 4 or 5. Strangely the positions we do need players like centre defence and midfield continue to be ignored.
Nuno will walk if he doesn’t get what he wants. He’s done it before
Let’s hope so…..
We wont spend the money mate
Ok lets step back for a moment..yes you have to get players in that the manager wants/likes and being West Ham if its a choice between a freebie injury prone player against a player who costs a fee we know which way it goes but surely someone has to sit Nuno down show him the stats regarding Nelsons injury history and explain this is why we will not sign the player….if we did sign him we play crap and Nuno gets sacked then what? we are stuck with an injury prone player who will not of signed for a year but probably 3 and on higher wages than the other choices suggested and no sell on value…Nuno is an employee and like it or not sometimes choices have to be made he does not like..he may well do what he did at Forest and throw a hissy fit and refuse to play anyone bought in that he had no say over..if that is the case then he has to go and use some of the money made out of all the departures to get rid and do proper thorough research on who the next man should be and not some temporary band aid solution
False promises about a constructive strategy towards Premier League ready players. Instead, our usual scattergun approach, leaving things far too late in the window. We look desperate, we are desperate and quite frankly need a better scouting and recruitment system. Probably doesn’t help being sabotaged by a joke of a manager and a shocking board.
How do we know there is disagreement between Nuno & recruitment team, or are we just making it up. What is the confirmed source.
Exactly..
Im sure these sites put things on here for the sake of it..
They quote they have spoken to a source but there is no direct evidence is there..
Well firstly, nobody is forcing you to read the website. You are more than welcome to go elsewhere.
As for the source…. I’m not revealing who said it because they’ll stop giving us information.
I can tell you now though, having spoken to people inside and outside of the club, I’m happy to say that Nelson is very much Nunos’ choice and not Koppens.
Incidentally, I don’t think Koppen is doing a great job either.
But honestly, if you’re cynical about what we’re reporting, just read another site. You’d be happier reading what you agree with and we wouldn’t have to read comments about ‘these sites’.
Bloody bonkers if you ask me…. A bit like walking into a restaurant and complaining that you don’t like the menu.
Just go elsewhere mate.
There is no hurry on Nelson as free agents can be signed at any time. With the others, why not actually talk to the players and clubs and see if;
1. The players want to come to us and,
2. If the clubs are willing to release the players and the terms to do so
It’s really not difficult and could provide a natural selection on who to concentrate on. This also could have been sorted out much earlier in the window
More evidence of why Nuno needs to be sacked. We’ve had enough of Nuno’s preferred wingers and he can’t be allowed to bring Nelson who will be about as useful as Traore was. Sign the Norwegian rather than another Leeds cast off.
i think that you missed the point about us not having the money available to sign anyone good !
Not having ANY money and having SMALL AMOUNT are completely different.
There was £25m set aside for Disasi and £25m for Troy Parrott or was that all BS.
Austbo _£10m / Amas or Burrows_£6m. These are not going to break bank and all will probably have resale value.
Like most of Nuno’s decisions he listens to himself and not majority.
Koppen/Chorley are a waste of time_reputation comes with no repute.
It now comes down to signings 5 freebies who can be signed at anytime providing there still available.
None of which will be worth anything.
All this penny pinching could have severe consequences when it comes to £200m for winning championship.
