Worrying Coufal injury

|

By Simon Leyland

Vladi Coufal played a big part in the goal

Vladamir Coufal  felt a hamstring  last night against Manchester City.

Our doughty Czech defender visibly winced in pain as he put a cross in from the right on the hour mark, and then was seen feeling his hamstring for the next few minutes.

He looked in some discomfort before then dropping to the pitch with his hands on his face.

The physios carried out what appeared to be hamstring injury tests. Coufal then limped off to be replaced by Ben Johnson who did his best to thwart the Blue tide.

What was particularly worrying was  Coufal`s expression when he left the pitch, it was looking like that of a man who knew that he was going to be unable to play for a while.

As yet, the severity of his injury is unknown, but hamstrings are notoriously difficult to predict as far as healing is concerned.

Coufal has enjoyed a resurgence in form over the last few weeks and this injury could not have a come at a worse time, as we can ill afford to be without our experienced and in-form full-back for such a crucial period coming up

West Ham fans and Moyes will be keeping everything crossed for some good news, and what with Zouma out for a “few weeks”, injuries to key players are coming at the worst possible time.
