Zouma & Aguerd on the way for a massive loss

Aguerd on the way for a massive loss as Saudi deal looms

West Ham are gearing up for a potentially transformative summer transfer window. With several player contracts expiring and a need to bolster their squad, the Hammers are walking a tightrope. While money is available for transfers, Financial Fair Play regulations necessitate generating funds through player sales as well.

The potential loss of murcurial Lucas Paqueta to Manchester City for £85 million exemplifies the club’s financial balancing act. The Irons will need to find other ways to raise funds, likely through player sales.

With FFP becoming ever more strictly policed, the race is on to raise funds, even if we lose money on players. Identifying and selling players deemed surplus to requirements is crucial. However, finding buyers willing to meet West Ham’s valuation can be challenging.

A glimmer of hope emerges from Saudi Arabia. Journalist Graeme Bailey suggests that the Saudi Pro League retains significant interest in West Ham defenders Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd.

Aguerd, a £30 million summer arrival, has struggled for consistency. West Ham seem open to selling him, and the player himself might be receptive to a move.

Despite his initial impact as a £29 million signing, Zouma has battled recurring knee problems. These issues prevent him from playing in consecutive matches, raising concerns about his long-term fitness.

Zouma to help boost Steidtens transfer kitty

The club could see a significant financial boost if they manage to sell both Zouma and Aguerd for a combined sum of £25-30 million each. This potential windfall would greatly enhance transfer chief Tim Steidten’s summer kitty, allowing him to pursue reinforcements in other areas of the squad.

While navigating the summer transfer window is never easy, the reported Saudi interest in Zouma and Aguerd offers a promising prospect for West Ham. Selling these players could provide the resources needed to reshape the squad and propel them forward in the upcoming season.

We need to buy before we sell, unlike January when we let 2 squad players leave and brought nobody in !
