2016/2017 West Ham Kit design leaked

|

Sketches rumoured to be close to the designs of the West Ham home and away kits for the 2016-2017 season have been leaked on social media by a twitter user called @ArchiAAL

The sketch suggests that 2016.2017 Home West Ham shirt will have a white collar, claret shirt base with a diamond pattern, light blue sleeves and white cuffs. The Betway logo will be white. Home shorts will white with light blue accents. White socks with two claret hoops and sky blue middle.

The sketch also suggests the 2016/2017 away  West Ham away shirt will be on a white base with claret collar and an Umbro diamond Chevron pattern. The Betway sponsor logo will be black. Away shorts will be light blue with Claret accents. Claret socks with two claret hoops.

However,  before anyone gets too excited the sketch designer admitted to Claret and Hugh this evening that it is more of an educated guess based on his knowledge of Umbro than a real leak. He explained this year’s theme for Umbro was location saying they are are basing the kits on stadium designs this coming season. Everton’s kit is based on the steel structure above the main stand and he predicts the West Ham kit will  closely mimic the Olympic stadium structural design. The diamond/triangle patterned from the steel beams and flood lights will be incorporated.

One supporter who contacted Claret and Hugh but asked to remain anonymous “I have seen the actual designs, they are similar but that’s not it. They will be out soon” adding “Sorry I would be shot if I say anymore.”

I remember last summer there were many leaks about our new kit.The majority were pure fiction. They didn’t resemble the actual kit at all, though credit where it’s due they got the Claret & Blue part of the design right.

Away kit is horrible, from top class this season to that….?? Please let this be wrong

I saw on internet these concept kits (home and away) created by a twitter user, I find them really pretty IMHO 😉

  • EastStandTeddy says:

They are nice kits Matt but the away has far too much Claret doesnt it,it looks more like a home kit.Back to the drawing board for that designer I think lol

    • mattefumi27 says:

hahaha… yes Teddy, I think that designer, reading our comments, erased his drawings.. lol 😀

  • Radai Lama says:

I don’t like Umbro kits,i think they are sh*t,not as sh*t as Macron but still sh*t haha.I always prefer when we are with Adidas.

  • Billy the Hammer says:

That away kit is about as appealing as an unflushable turd!!

  • mattefumi27 says:

lol the new kit doesn’t hit our taste… the only solution is to to launch a survey on the other site and, if possible, even some sketches… 😀

  • Billy the Hammer says:

Ffs don’t say that Matte,The Sopranos will accuse you of calling them out 😀

    • mattefumi27 says:

hahah… you’re right Billy, back to my bunker… anyway, If they allow me just one minute, I’d like the home kit as grey as a rabid dog and the way kit as pink as an ignorant pig… lol 😀

  • GW says:

Just hope the shorts are waterproof in case our incontinent friends over at the mecca of knowledge decide to purchase them.

  • Radai Lama says:

Actually I don’t mind the away one having taking a longer butchers at it,its a bit like the ’76 Cup Winners Cup one but an away version.Well sort of haha.I don’t really give a flying what design they are really, they are only a bit of material to throw on Matchdays 🙂
I don’t think they are able to draw sketches this week Matte, give it a week, the tears are probably still flowing, they will only get on the sketches & ruin the design 🙂

  • mattefumi27 says:

hahha… GW and Rads, your comments are entirely relevant and I hope they are taken into account… lol 😀

    • GW says:

I am trying my best to remain on topic Matte as I do not want to be hunted down by the thought police with their pitchforks, chinos covered in wet patches and pockets full of used kleenex from their tearful goodbyes to their old lady last Tuesday.

      • mattefumi27 says:

hahah… that’s true GW, we have to be like ninjas, we have to operate in the shadows. We’re on the their radar… don’t worry, I’m sewing camouflage jackets and I’ve just bought night vision goggles… lol 😀

  • Radai Lama says:

Lol Matte, admit it you already have night vision googles, you use them for going round the streets of Milan at 2am admiring the figa.I saw the reports about the man found hidden in a bin with them on in Milan haha 🙂

    • mattefumi27 says:

hahah.. that man is worse than me Rads… there must be something strange in the Milan air … lol 😀

  • HamburgHammer says:

I have to confess I like the new crest a lot, the simplistic approach of just having the crossed hammers appeals to me, reminds me of many German clubs crests which tend to be very basic.

As for the shirt I don’t expect any shockers or too many surprises for our first season in the OS. The home shirt will always be a very classic design with a full claret body and blue sleeves and collar.

After having a blue away shirt this season we should have a predominantly white one next season, surely with some claret/blue thrown into the mix in the form of hoops/stripes/pipings.

  • StanThe Man says:

I like both I confess,i always like something a little bit different as the away kit though the blue kit with the two Claret hoops is always going to be the classic which I would love every season if it was my choice.

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

I used to have the old away kit when I was still at school can’t remember but think it may have been 1980/81 season the original kit is much better looking than that one, to me it looks like one of those dodgy aran knit jumpers made into a football jersey. Wouldn’t expect it to sell very well but who knows.

  • StanThe Man says:

I had that one as well when I was at school No.32.Plain white Adidas one I think if my memory serves me right.

    • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Wasn’t it Admiral Stan ? can’t remember now, the adidas was 85/86 which I also had if I remember.
