DG: “The fans know we have fine players”

|

Gold arms up in airDavid Gold refuses to believe the Hammers have suddenly become an average team!

And he points to the thousands of messages he receives from fans who have made their feelings known sometimes noisily on the social network over the last year.

Speaking exclusively to ClaretandHugh he said: “Of course things have become disappointing – a blind man can see that but let’s not start calling out the players.

“I have been on Twitter for a long time – long enough to unnerstand how the fans feel and what they want from the board. That’s fair enough. I look at them all – it’s why I’m out there

“They were desperate for us to re-sign Winston and we did. They are regularly calling for us to sign Carl Jenkinson and Alex Song.

“They explain Aaron Cresswell, Diafra Sakho and Chek Kouyate have been immense this season in their first year and they are right.

“That all suggests they believe we have some very good players in the team so let’s keep things in ย perspective.

“Adrian, Mark Noble, Enner Valencia – there’s so many of them. We have very good players indeed. I agree with the fans.

“We are listening to all that’s said but such comments don’t suggest we are a poor or average team – quite the opposite and we will all be working very hard on things again this summer.”

Good to see he acknowledges a blind man can see its becoming disappointing, unlike some blinkered people.Yes we do have good players, some very good players. He knows fans think we have these players.Just points to him realizing the problem is elsewhere, not with the players abilities.

  • rugbyirons says:

Interesting Gold didnt name his captain or Carroll though! Its the manager not the players and he knows it.At Leicester we were less than average.

  • ChickenRunner says:

Every fan accepts we have a very good first team when players are available. They can play some excellant football when not being strangled by the ineptitude of the managers team selections & formations. But clearly David you are starting to see where the issue lies.Great news,i hope soon the joker will be out of the door!

    • hammer180 says:

BFS has picked the team and formation all season, therefore logic says how can anyone know the players can play excellent football when not being strangled by the manager!!! Oh Shock and Horror maybe BFS was in charge for those games!!!!!!

      • ChickenRunner says:

I ment when his pet is in the team d*ckhead & he moves people better suited to his position.Go make some more prawn sandwiches for us all.Guess with Gold coming to his senses you can only come on to pick holes before your messiah gets the boot!!!

    • TysonM says:

Dont worry Chicken,we understood what you ment.180 probably had prawn cocktail sauce in his eyes & couldnt concentrate on the point you were making ๐Ÿ˜€

It’s just going to take a little effort. It’s on the tip of your tongue… “Sam out”.
    It’s very liberating… ๐Ÿ˜‰

With everyday & statement DG is making the time gets closer Matte.Saturday he was devastated by being beaten & said it wasnt good enough.Today he says we have good players. So he is only pointing his finger in one direction now for this slide down the table. He has recognised where the problem lies ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • sibbo says:

the team is fine its theMANAGER that needs changing

  • TysonM says:

We have some smashing players,no denying that.Give them someone who can play them to their full potential & we will have a great team. They showed in the first few months what they can produce when allowed to express themselves, not be weighed down by BFS’s negative mind set & need to hinder other players growth just to fit in his pet.

  • essexclarets says:

The manager tells the team what tactics he wants and he doesn’t seem to know how to get the best of our squad. We have some great younger players, why doesn’t he bring them through, what have we got to lose? If BFS stays then how will we attract decent players. Unless you change ur name to Nolan of course. Every young player quitely disappears after a couple of years being sent out on loan.

    • hammer180 says:

Maybe, just maybe these young players are not good enough. Now there’s a thought

      • mattefumi69 says:

Yes your thought, because I never see them playing… maybe not even your guru, maybe… ๐Ÿ˜‰

        • TysonM says:

How the hell our we going to know if they never play.I bet Southampton are glad their nippers were given their chance.Wenger had no probnlem bringing in Coquelin after being at Charlton,Jordan Ibe at Liverpool after a loan spell at Derby. How the hell do you know there not good enough? Poyet,Burke? We wont know till they play.

  • TysonM says:

The way is see it with the Nolan debate is this. The guy has done us good service. He really did drag us up by the scruffs of ours necks at times from the championship.I think he was more instrumental in that promotion than Dudley The Dinosaur. However you onky need to look at his goal scoring records over the years to see he is a spent force. Also we can cope on the pitxh without him,the start of the season proved that. Also it has to be said, how many other prem teams would he get into these days,as a player only not as well as a captain.Would he be playing for anynof the teams around us?Swansea,Saints,Stoke.I dont think so.I know i will get grief from his fans & sam believers but he doesnt have it anymore. Its fine playing well against Man.Utd or Chelsea but most players lift their game against the big teams. His time has come, its just a fact of life at 33 he doesnt have what it takes for the pace of the Prem.Sorry Dafishes, lol ๐Ÿ˜€

  • rickthehammer63 says:

Its been said before when we were in fizzy pop league we had the best squad but went up on play off final ive always wondered what would of happened if we didn’t win would the messiah been sacked? would Nolan have gone as well? yes we have a great team just management lacking ideas now taxi for samasaurus & hes apostles

  • bubs says:

How many goals does Lee have to score for other teams before he gets the chance he is a natural goal scorer,
Why did we bring Poyet to the club just to send him out on loan and don’t say one for the future,
We bring in Henry send him out to Blackburn and he is brilliant when we were desperate for a centre half ( makes no sense)
Other clubs would have given Boothe and Oxford some playing time by now but not us
    Only one person to blame.
    BFS OUT NOW

  • hammers1 says:

    Bubs
Some good points made. Lee should be at least on the bench if Sahko and Valencia are played together. BFS would rather have the big ineffective can’t control than a small goal scorer. As for Poyet, I think that while Song is still with us, BFS will play him. Nolan would sit on the bench when Valencia plays ( God willing ) . Shame Henry is injured while Tomkins is out as he should also make the bench as cover for Reid and Collins.
