Hammers call in the fans

|

ch1West Ham United have called a meeting with fans to discuss the crowd problems which have marred the opening weeks of their Premier League campaign since moving to the London Stadium.

After Saturday’s 4-2 defeat to Watford, a club statement confirmed 10 supporters were ejected during the game in addition to 47 complaints made over standing in seated areas and anti-social behaviour.

The club is seeking feedback from all sections of the stadium on a number of issues, and  a sample last season’s Supporters Advisory Board have been invited to take part in the discussion, which will take place at the stadium on Tuesday evening.

Today the club emailed over 1,000 supporters who have previously sent in feedback to founders feedback address.

The email read: West Ham United would like to thank you for your recent feedback of your early experiences of London Stadium.  Over recent weeks, the West Ham Board have reviewed all the feedback and suggestions submitted to the Club, and are now keen to tackle these issues to improve the matchday experience for everyone.

As such, we are reaching out to everyone who has contacted the Founders Feedback address to invite you to register your interest in attending a forum meeting with Club representatives at London Stadium on Tuesday 20th September at 6:30pm. So, if you would like to register you can do so by replying to this email with the below information, so we can ensure that all perspectives are represented as spaces are limited:

  • The games you’ve attended this season
  • Your seat and block number
  • The question or issue you would like to raise

Please note the deadline for confirming your interest is 12 noon on Friday 16 September.

If you have been selected to attend the Forum, you will be notified on Friday with full details regarding the forum. Even if you are not present in person, you can rest assured that the issues you have raised will be discussed. The Board is committed to working together with supporters to create and provide a fantastic matchday experience at London Stadium, would like to thank all those who have shared feedback, and look forward to discussing your views and suggestions on Tuesday.

I hope that most of the attendees are quite normal and articulate. These things are commonly interrupted by idiots shouting out stuff like ‘you’re only in it for the money’, ‘its all your fault’, ‘does Karen take it up the Gunners’ etc. They should also invite an ex-hooligan to get some real advice on segregation and how people get around it etc. I hope the talks help bring unity.

I have sent a letter of complaint to West ham after I was subjected to quite an unforgivable and totally disgraceful behaviour and lack of respect by one of the stewards during the Watford game.
I have bowel cancer and a stoma bag and was laughed at by a steward I approached regarding a disabled toilet. I reported this particular steward to his supervisor immediately and informed West ham by email in more detail of this shocking incident. Awaiting a reply.

Once again they choose who they want and require the questions in advance. No doubt they will carefully select the questions to be aired, as they usually do, to create the desired propaganda.
