Zarate must pay Lazio £4.2m says court

|

ZartHammer Mauro Zarate lost his legal battle with Lazio and must pay the club €5.9m (£4.2m) reports claim in Italy. The striker terminated his contract early in 2013 and ever since then has been embroiled in a series of court cases over breach of contract.

The FIFA court of arbitration ruled that Zarate was in the wrong when he tried to terminate his contract at Lazio with a year left to run on the contract.

The Argentine has been ordered to pay €5.3m in compensation, plus another €300,000 in interest.

The West Ham forward Zarate can now appeal, but has 30 days to pay the Biancocelesti.
