David Sullivan presumably had his tongue very much in his cheek when deciding on what gift he should present to Mark Noble on his retirement.

And he probably took on board that the great man had made it clear he was off on his holidays and ready for a real rest after his mighty efforts on behalf of the club.

Indeed MN16 came out with a classic quote declaring I’ll be lying on a beach somewhere next year while Craig Dawson is marking Erling Haaland!”

As a result it seems that a travel bag was considered the ideal gift but not just any old travel bag you understand.

Instead the co chairman went top of the range with a Louis Vuitton bag which was presented to the former club skipper ( how strange that still sounds ) after his last home appearance in a Hammers shirt after the game against Manchester City.
