West Ham have already sold over 28,000 tickets for Thursday’s UEFA Europa League opener against FC Lusitans and the club hope to sell out all 35,000 by the evening kick off.
The Hammers sold over 12,000 tickets on Friday when the match went on general sale paralysing the ticket office website and phone lines when their experienced huge demand.
An insider told Claret and Hugh “We have never sold that many tickets in a day before for anything”
Despite FC Lusitans being a club no-one has ever heard of before and a game which in unlikely to be the most competitive match we have ever played, Hammers fans seem to have been caught up in the romance of Europe after a long absence together with the excitement of a new manager and three new signings. It may not be the most entertaining game on Thursday but the West Ham loyal support will be outstanding.
and it’s due to be as warm as it will be in Andorra the following week. Who would of thought?
Have fun boys, get the place rocking, I will be there in spirit.
You know there is no room for joking Rads everything is serious lol. I’m gutted in want make it.
20 sheets on the day though isnt it.It is a combination of many things.Slavs first game, european night, cheap tickets, last chance for many to go to the ground who will possibly struggle to get tickets for prem matches. The sun & moon have aligned to create the perfect scenario.Till we lose 1-0!! Ok im joking before i get shed loads of sh*t 😀
I truly believe it’s not about the European romance, nor is it about Slav’s first game. It’s about tickets for £20. Thousands of real fans simply CAN NOT go to matches cos the tickets are way out of our price range. The Prem’ just doesn’t get this. Praying that when we get to the OS, it’s not just the season tickets that are more affordable.
Tickets are £10
Woohoo 🙂
I would say that tickets being a tenner has helped but it is the chance to welcome the manager and celebrate the first stage of a return to football a perfect cocktail 🙂
Exactly DG!
The game maybe crap but Slavs first game can’t be missed. COYI
Spot on tony, should be a cracking night 😉
Well done to the owners for pricing the game realistically and to he fans for the willing support. 35,000 on a mid summer, Thursday night will be a great advertisement for our club and our community. COYI.
Yep,got to be done.See Slavs first game 😉
And I’ll be one of them as well as a group of mates who stopped going due to the anti football manager!
