Coufal: ‘West Ham is very popular in Czech Republic’

|

Hammer Vladimir Coufal was coy on whether West Ham will qualify for the Champions League and he was quick to praise his manager David Moyes.

He said: “David Moyes is a big personality for Scottish football and for our Premier League. He is very helpful. Still he is asking about something, what do we need.

Hopefully, I wish [to qualify for the Champions League]. But we will see. We have to stay with our feet on the ground and we will see at the end of the season.

West Ham is very popular now in Czech Republic. It’s very pleasant and I really enjoy it.”

Moyes signed the 28-year-old right-back for just £5.5m from  Czech club Slavia Prague, following his Czech team mate Tomas Soucek into the club at the club with the general view being that the midfielder acted as a club “scout.”

Tomas Soucek who cost a combined £19m in loan and transfer fee with his fomer Prague team-mate probably being seen as the bargain buy of the Irons season.

Perhaps other Slavia Prague players could join West Ham in the near future with striker Abdallah Sima and keeper Ondřej Kolář both being linked with possible moves this summer.

Slavia Prague could quickly become the unofficial feeder club for West Ham and the Hammers could become the unofficial Premier League club of the whole Czech Republic nation.

I have been following West Ham since 2010 and being from Czech Republic myself, I absolutely love the link and the success it is bringing right now!

The Czech lads are so good because they work hard and fight in every game great energy . The other players are also Woking hard so it’s the team spirit . Would love us to finish 4Th in hoping and dreaming , fortunes always hiding and all that . If the signings you mention work just as hard we will be successful but how about adding Adam Hlozek to the list . He looks like the real deal & so young . Let’s go on a great run , we can beat anyone on our day including Leicester & Chelsea, wolves …. COYI ⚒
