How we rated the Irons against Spurs

|

Hughie hands out his marks

Fabianski: Tremendous save from Kane towards end of first half and safe all afternoon – looks to have a season or two left in him to me 7

Johnson: A young man growing in stature. Odd misplaced pass but by and large very much on the case front and back. 7

Zouma: Gives a real sense of security at the back – another very very good performance, A great signing 8

Ogbonna: He and Zouma really are an outstanding partnership. Some great defensive work as Spurs enjoyed a spells of pressure 8

Cresswell: Another really fine performance – there’s fewer better left backs in the Premier League. Assist for the goal and a top all round performance 8+

Rice: The guy gets better and better – never a ball wasted and forever breaking up Spurs forward movement. Top class 8+

Soucek: Missed a couple of chances he would have gobbled up last season. Still struggling to find his best form 6+

Benrahma: Flitted in and out of things. He’s either outstanding or frustrating – today he was the latter 6

Fornals:  This was another of his top Hammers performances, great passing and movement – finding space and real eye for goal 8+

Bowen: Always busy without really getting into great forward positions but certainly played his part 7

Antonio: Instinctive goal and gave Romero a really tough time. Top stuff again Mikey 8

Subs:

Lanzini, Dawson No ratings

Back four super superb today. Notice that Son got no change out of Ben Johnson and was completely neutralised. Cress deadly on the corner. Zouma and Oggy were absolute class.

  • Austrick says:

Formidable defending keeping Son Kane and Moura quiet.
