New Hammers signings agreed relegation clauses

West Ham have included  relegation wage reduction clauses into the contracts of the their most recent signings.

It means that the eight signings made by David Moyes in the summer will all take a cut should the Irons drop into the Championship

Despite finishing seventh last season and missing out on a European Trophy final place at the semi final stage, the Hammers board has taken no chances with things this time around.

However, despite the relegation clauses, the club could well miss out on big fees for their players which look certain to arise should they drop a division.

David Moyes has overseen a torrid run of games for West Ham that leaves them above the relegation zone on goal difference and the bookies offering a generous 9/2 against them being relegated
