Former top ref Graham Poll has made it clear that Sergio Aguero should have been red carded for his elbow on Winston Reid in yesterday’s game against Manchester City.
Poll said: “He is without doubt one of the best centre forwards in world football but he showed the nasty side of his game at the Etihad.”
He told The Mail: “Aguero, under close but fair attention from West Ham’s Winston Reid, clearly threw an elbow at Reid.
His fist was clenched to add power to the elbow and inflict damage and he should have been sent off for violent conduct.”
Andre Marriner failed to see the elbow despite his proximity and so the Football Association will be able to use video evidence and charge him.
If they do, as surely they must, then City will be without him for the Manchester derby after the international break.”
Oh, Graham Poll – who cares about these washed-up old ref’s have to say!
I can never see the point on BT Sport where they go over to the bald-headed ex ref, whose name escapes me at the moment, to get his opinion on some Refereeing decision – what difference does it make? The Match Ref makes his decision right or wrong, no amount of punditry makes the slightest difference!

I agree I can never understand why someone bothers to moan about someone obviously better qualified to give a verdict that us simple fans can’t make ourselves,
In fact why bother having Papers or Magazines and site like this to sit and read when we could waste our life Moaning all the time,

Ok fair enough, I’ve got a bit of a hangover this morning – BUT tell me something – what difference does Graham Poll or Howard Webb telling you that Anthony Taylor (for example!) has made another balls-up make to the proceedings – the decision has been made, right or wrong, Poll/Webb opinions make no difference – hold on, that’s not necessarily true, them pointing out Anthony Taylor’s obvious errors make you marvel how he can keep on Refereeing matches week after week – but there he is making more errors every week!

couldn’t same said about all pundits Though, they all go through the talking points of the game & highlight certain things. The FA panel could well take notice of retired professional offficals.
Both games we have lost could have turned out different if the ref got the big decisions correct. Costa shouldn’t have been on the pitch when he scored & Aguero should have gone. Who knows what would have happened with ten men. The fact we were crap against chelski & first half yesterday doesn’t come in to it or we really got what we deserved, sweet fa.
Alright, I’m arguing against myself a bit here – but in both Premiership games so far the Ref’s have made glaring errors firstly in missing Costa’s foul and now Aguero’s blatant elbow – Howard Webb saying the Ref got it wrong and the player should have been sent off may prompt the FA into some sort of retrospective action BUT it just makes me even more frustrated. It’s after the event, the Ref’s made a balls-up in both incidents and the game has continued – Aguero getting banned against Manchester United or whoever doesn’t give West Ham any satisfaction, we’ve had the dirty done to us but have got no redress for these Refereeing errors. The fact that Costa got away scot free makes you even more frustrated!
Yet another case for TV replays where the manager, not the ref / 4th official shoud decide whether a decision should be reviewed.
They have it in Rugby, Tennis, Cricket (since Nov 2009 FFS), even Hockey, but the richest sport of all continues to live in the dark ages…It’s actually suspicious…WTFIGO?
