Hammers still chasing Belfodil

|

West Ham United are still moving in on Inter Milan striker Ishak Belfodil.

The Hammers were left in desperate straits yesterday when defeated 2-1 by Fulham and  the club, the focus is now on very much ona new front man.

The Hammers have been following the 21-year-old for several weeks and a source confirmed to clareretandhugh exclusively that the speculation has some truth in it.

Belfodil is keen to get games after making just eight goal-less appearances for the Serie A outfit following a move from Parma.

The Algerian managed just eight goals in 33 appearances for Parma.

However, a source confirmed the player is definitely on the club’s radar and that discussions have been held.

He admitted the list of targets had been reduced from an original 20 two months ago to around 10 and said: “Belfodil is one of those we have been looking at – that is a fact.”

However, there was a massive setback earlier today with Everton’s Johnny Heitinga turning terms down at Upton Park.

  • SpainHammer says:

Heitinga, on turning down the move, ‘reportedly’ said “It’s nothing about money but just a feeling I got.” Doesn’t bode well – and not a good advert for attracting new blood!

  • Plaistow says:

I wonder of that feeling was anything to do with Roma being reportedly interested? As for Belfodil, not prolific in Italy but has physical attributes similar to AC.
