The majority of supporters think West Ham will be relegated this season. Nearly 51% of 1,395 voters said the Hammers will face relegation while 49% of those who took part in a Claret and Hugh poll think we can survive the drop.
With ten games left to play West Ham sit precariously in 17th spot just 2 points off the relegation zone. A loss against 18th place Southampton next Saturday would see us swap places and the Hammers would end up in the relegation zone. While West Brom looks all but down on just twenty points from thirty-one games, the remaining two relegation places have yet to be decided from Stoke, Southampton, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Huddersfield, Swansea or Newcastle.
A win over the Saints next weekend could put us as high as 14th as Newcastle play Huddersfield in another important survival battle.
After Southampton, the Hammers face Chelsea away, Stoke at home, Arsenal away, Man City at home, Leicester away finishing with Sam Allardyce’s Everton at home at the London Stadium.
The ultimate irony would be needing to beat Everton, to stay up…….
That would be 8 games to go Sean, not 10.
Ten games left??
Sean, surely you mean 8 GAMES TO PLAY not 10
As an add on to the fixtures, we still have Man United to visit at a date to be re-arranged,
When you replace a poor manager with a manager just as poor what do you expect? Under any half decent manager this squad would be comfortably in the top 10, just need someone with half a football brain to figure out Hienze to play Arnie Chico and Antonio together in a poor league bar the top 6.
