Pitch invaders lunacy could cause new problems

|

If defeat wasn’t bad enough there was another major downside for the club tonight as the Irons faltered in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

A 3-1 defeat against Spurs is hard enough to take but to see a couple of fans running onto the pitch in what amounts to an act of sabotage is also more than sad.

After the events of last season against Burnley – and with an FA probe into that still going on- this was precisely what the club didn’t need.

No doubt we will learn precisely what action the club intends to do about the offenders – or have already done – very soon which are likely to be life bans.

But it seems inevitable that the FA will again be involved in a possible censure of the Hammers and a probable fine.

So unnecessary  – so very stupid!

It was stupid to run on the pitch but the club cannot be blamed if they have no role in a rewarding.
