Arnautovic completes £22.5m move to China

|

Marko Arnautovic has completed his €25m to Shanghai SIPG this evening after agreeing on personal terms with the Chinses Super League club. The £22.4m transfer fee includes no add ons and brings closure to his short two-year stay at West Ham.

The 30-year-old is understood to have signed a three-year contract on weekly wages around £280,000 per week.

It comes less than six months after he signed a new contract with West Ham for £120,000 per week adding a further 12 months to his deal. At that point, West Ham had rejected a €40m (£36m) bid from another Chinese club for their bad boy.

Stoke City are likely to see little of the transfer fee as the 20% sell on clause was based on profits on the £20m paid to them in 2017.

Arnautovic leaves having scoring 22 goals from 65 games.

Both West Ham United and Shanghai SPIG are expected to make official announcements soon.

He wasn’t a patch on Payet so hard to even put him in the potential legend class imho the only world class ability he has is as a tw@t good luck to the team that signed him because he will be asking for a payrise in the next window.

Spot on I didn’t want to sign him in first place bc I was worried about his attitude & consistency then he had best club year of his life for 2018 semmed happy all the badge kssing was up w top players in PL & def most cconsistent. Then after Jan fell of & like he started & at Stoke showed up when felt like it the last two games but didn’t realise how bad his brother was too ffs he is worse could give Wanda Nara Icardis wife & Neymars Father run for worst family agent. Def nowhere near Payet & at least Payet wanted to for family issues tho created himself but took paycut neither went about it right way but Payet 15/16 unbelievable best form of career too was suited to PL both threw away best form of career hit at later age could of build on.
Reckon he hates China too & will def want more money when finds out Igahlo Bakumbu Hul who will be is strike partner I guess makes twice as much as him. If £200k is accurate.
