Ajeti proves doubters wrong again

|

Albian Ajeti is continuing to prove his doubters wrong by scoring yet another goal in the Scottish Championship.

In just five matches and 200 minutes, the former West Ham striker has scored four goals and made one assist which is a goal every 40 minutes.

He has declared himself close to 100% fitness after bagging his fourth goal in five domestic games and  produced a fine finish against Livingston which ultimately proved to be the winner as the Hoops ran out 3-2 victors at Celtic Park. It added to previous strikes against Dundee United, Motherwell, and Ross County respectively.

However, perhaps more importantly, yesterday’s win against Livingston marked the second game in eight days in which Ajeti has lasted over an hour. He was replaced on 79 minutes yesterday after a 62-minute outing last Saturday in Dingwall.

As quoted by the Herald, Ajeti said: “I feel good and close to 100% now. I’ve still got work to do but I was happy to start today and the points were the most important thing.

“I expect to score goals. But my first aim in every game is to try and help the team win. If I can score to help them, even better. If I play well or we win, the confidence is always high. I’ve never had a problem with my own confidence.

“I was pleased with my game today but we can still improve. We’re trying to get better. Every striker in this squad can score goals. Sometimes it’s me, or its Odsonne (Edouard) or (Patryk) Klimala – we can all score.”

Last month Celtic completed the permanent signing of West Ham forward Albian Ajeti on a four-year contract for a fee of around £4.5m with £1.5m of add-ons plus a 15% sell-on clause.

No-one is suggesting the Scottish Premiership is anywhere close to the Premier League but it does show that at £8 million to the Irons he could have done with more opportunities.

Was poor every single time he played for us and scoring va some farmers in the worst league in Europe proves nothing

I wouldn’t read too much into this. If my mum played for Celtic, she’d score goals against the poor quality opposition they play every week😉

The EPL is the most overrated league in europe.

I think you’ve summed it up ……. Motherwell, Ross County, Livingston…….. might have scored for us against Charlton,,,,

Sorry but that is a very weak league.Celtic stroll it every season and then get knocked out of the Champions league early qualifying round to a Hungarian team so i would not make comparisons between the English and Scottish premierships as they are poles apart in terms of quality opposition each game.

Carlton Cole even managed a goal for Celtic – albeit in the cup against about fourth tier opposition ! Lol

… and make West Ham look stupid. And very unable to spot, develop and channel talent.
A very poor reflection of our managers and coaches. And add Grady D, Hugill, Josh Cullen, Nathan Holland, and Xander Silva to that list … to prove this point.
Totally poor for a club who prides themselves for nurturing our youngsters. Lord help us.

Livingston ? Who would they compare to in the League 2 ?
