Antonio update

|

Michail Antonio is facing a second scan tomorrow after a first today (Mon) appeared to show that he could be facing a tear which if confirmed could rule him out for a month to six weeks.

Things didn’t look too bad on Sunday when he appeared to make it clear that his had no hamstring problems pointing to his thigh before being replaced by Andriy Yarmolenko.

However, a scan today showed the possibility of a tear which could see him ruled out of Thursday evening’s second leg Europa cup clash at the London Stadium against Seville.

As was the case with Jarrod Bowen, the club are keen to see second scans after the first appeared to show the possibility of a tear.
The club revealed to CandH that if that turns out to be the case the No 9 could be out of action for up to a month or six weeks and leave us with a real problem up front on Thursday.

Disaster and this is all on Moyes. Suicidal not buying a forward in Jan now we’re without Bowen and Antonio for the 2 biggest games of the season. Don’t know what Moyes was playing at thinking that he could keep playing him. For me Antonio had to sit out of either Liverpool or villa. Did Moyes honestly expect him to play 6 90 minutes in two weeks?!

Moyes has run his 12 players into the ground and we are now reaping the rewards for his gross incompetence and mismanagement . . We are out of the cup , sliding down the league and face a European exit on Thursday . EVEYONE apart from him could see that we needed more players and at the very worst a goal scorer. ….. but there was no one available or better. Strange how other teams have found so many good players in the same market place . . We had a great opportunity to achieve a season to remember and build the foundations for a bright future but Moyes has all but wasted it . Top 10 just about at best. In the summer we will lose half of the squad including Declan who deserves far better. …

Comments here harshvto say the least. We are high in the league and are in last 16 of Europa League because of Moyes.
Hardly any business was done by clubs in January as players of higher calibre than current squad not available either because own club trying to avoid relegation or with top clubs not wanting us as a competing club to have a top player eg Lingard.
Building our club is a long term project as,Moyes has often said. Remember it took Liverpool 30 years to win the league again!
