Arsenal get Rice go ahead

|

West Ham and Arsenal are close to agreement on Declan Rice’s transfer to the north London club. It’s understood that Arsenal could get Rice within the next 48 hours.

For according to Sky Sports the player has now been given permission to talk personal terms with his new club whilst the Hammers and Arsenal continue to discuss exactly how the payments will be made.

David Sullivan is insisting that it is paid over a year or 18 months whilst the Gooners want to do so over four years which would leave the Hammers getting just over £25 million a year – not enough to conduct the window business they are planning.

However, there is now an agreement that the 24 year old will be moving across London and thus there is no reason to hold up his personal terms talks which would be followed by a medical with the talks hopefully completed as regards the the payment structure by July 1.

Sky Sports reported in revealing the news: ““While there is still a willingness from all parties to get it done, there is still work to do before the clubs find a resolution,”

“Rice is now free to discuss personal terms and look at having his medical.”
