Big Irons signing told he must wait

|

processWest Ham’s £7 million deadline day signing Michail Antonio has been told he will have to wait for his Hammers career to take off.

The Victor Moses loan has stood in the way of the former Nottingham Forest wideman’s chance and the exit from the Capital One Cup looks set to delay it further.

Moses was a hugely expensive signing and the Irons are keen to capitalise on the player’s outstanding form which has seen him short listed for the African Premier League Player of the month award.

The Irons were determined to snatch the player on deadline day as he was being tracked by two or three other Premier League outfits but should Moses remain fit the 25 year old will need to wait for his chance.

ClaretandHugh was told this morning that with the club so spoiled for choice at the moment anything was possible but that Moses was seen as the number one left sided player this term.

Our top source said: “He’s been terrific since he arrived and yes, we are spoiled for choice but Michail was brought in as the long term prospect for that position.

“This season may be frustrating for him but he has a very big future at this club – that’s a certainty.”

He will have a lot of expensive mates sitting on the bench, but if he is going to fit in we need to see if he is as good or even better than Moses,
If he plays well and fits in we won’t want Moses next year,
Just hope he will wait for his chance,

He will get his chance im sure, just needs to be patient.Still a nice option to have on the bench.

He should get a run out against Sunderland as he might be needed to play in that role against Chelsea if Moses in unavailable, defensively I am sure he must be better than Moses who has been great with his goals and they have brought very important points but he has offered nothing else, the game passes Moses by when he doesn’t have the ball at his feet or one in front of him to chase, it is a huge waste of talent, Hughes identified it at Stoke and that’s why he couldn’t get in the team after a promising start. I wonder if Chelsea would allow him to play against them after all he is easy to exploit for someone like Oscar or Fabregas. Having been critical of Moses I hope that Slaven can manage to get him to realise more of his potential, to understand and be aware of what is happening around him when he doesn’t have the ball and getting him to move into positions where he can affect the game positively either by making a tackle or intercepting a pass or making a run / being in a space that pulls an opponent out of position etc.

    Bang on 32 !!!
I had my doubts about moses work rate when we were chasing his signature and got into a row turned slanging match when I said it at the time , well it appears I was right as were a few others that he can go missing ? Defencively he’s pants and that is a big part of the game plan under Bilic and if we want the west ham way back to the norm he will have to be dropped because of the defending issue. We must give the bard his chance asap as he is a hammer with big ambitions for playing for us and not moses who is hear for a year .
Moses is a good player but not showing the attitude he should in putting in a shift to help out .persoaly he has been hyped up a bit to much as I can only remember two passages of play that have stood out and they were his goal at city and the effort v Newcastle that payet finished for him, other than that he has been warm and cold !!.
We will need grafters at Sunderland and for that reason I would play Antonio.

Thanks Johnboy, I am not sure in Moses case that he isn’t willing to put a shift in, I might be wrong of course, more it looks a case of he seems lost when he is not doing something purposeful, he doesn’t seem to know what he should be doing or where he should position himself to contribute to the team. Hopefully though as you say Antonio will get a chance he is after all our player and has signed a long contract with us, so if there isn’t much in it he should get a chance to shine !

No surprise there are no west ham player in england squad again

    • StingRay Stewart says:

Doesnt surprise me.Who would be in it? Noble & Cresswell who our own fans have questioned about some of their performances this season. The only one possibly who deserves a go is Tomkins maybe.Dont understand why some of our fans get uptight about none of our players being selected, apart from Tonks our english players in the main have been our weakest imo 😉

    • HongKong Hammer says:

I was just castigated in HITC for suggesting Cressie, Nobes and Jenks simply aren’t good enough on current form. But that’s how I see it. Hodgson’s selections are cr@p but the fact is our lads aren’t up to it at the moment.

  • essexclarets says:

Who the f**k is Deli Alli…??

  • Glasgow Smile says:

    Spuds striker,just a kid.
So now on to Moses & it seems the noose is around his neck after a handful of games.Every team has these type of players/wingers who can go missing in games.Just let them get on with what they are supposed to do,create or score chances. If Slav isnt happy he will drop him but i really dont get all these ‘expert’ analisists on sites who seem to know better than managers. If youre so wise why are you supporters, shouldnt you be managing in the premier league.

    • HongKong Hammer says:

Not hostile GLASGOW? They’re entitled to an opinion? Doesn’t mean they should manage or stop being supporters !

  • essexclarets says:

As long as he scores goals regularly he will play if he doesn’t the squad has strength in depth so he can be replaced. There aren’t many players that are guaranteed a starting place for the first time in years.

  • HongKong Hammer says:

    I meant “a bit hostile, GLASGOW”?… Frikkin spellcheck !!

  • bubs says:

Ashy do we need Moses to defend we have 4 defenders plus Kouyate and Noble or Obiang
I had enough of that when Hoddle could not get in the England team but we would sooner play a non talented midfielder,
Moses has been put up for Africa player of the month and we knock him,
Next we will be knocking Payet for not tackling hard enough,
Let’s get this last 4 years out of our thoughts for good skill not respect the point,

  • johnboy says:

The bottom line is then ,does he warrant a start in front of Antonio on merit ?
I think he hasn’t done enough to guarantee a place!
Everyone has said that if players are on a bit of a low the squad will more than cover it,
The point being made is Antonio at 7 mill with a glowing reference in the game needs a game or two to stake his claim to compete.

As for the expert analysists wet pants will be you’re ideal hunting ground mate lol
They are discussing managers at the moment .
    Enjoy !!!
