Blades lay into London Stadium

|

Blades fans were not impressed with their first visit to the London Stadium with many of them taking to social media to share their experience vowing not to return.

Sheffield United have been at their stadium at Bramell Lane since 1889 with the ground dating back to 1855.

The away fans used to a traditional style ground but took to Twitter to say:

“Nothing to do with Tevez or anything like that. But The London Stadium is up there with the worst grounds I’ve ever watched football at. Truly terrible place. West Ham fans must be gutted the left a historic ground like Upton Park for that absolute soulless bowl”

“London Stadium – Would say I feel sorry for the West Ham fans but Nah. It’s chalk & cheese from Upton Park. Acoustics are horrendous. PA muted. Distance from playing surface ridiculous. Away fans separated. In no rush to watch another game of football there”

“The London Stadium: a fantastic structure no doubt, just not a football stadium. One of the traditional clubs of our game always played great football, produced great players, West Ham reduced to this. They’re simply ‘not West Ham anymore”

“That’s the London Stadium ticked off, won’t be going back, shite ground but blades dug a result out, could have nicked it but take the point…still unbeaten away”
