CandH Exclusive: Irons respond to Rice/Arsenal “deal”

CandH Exclusive by Hughie Southon

West Ham have exclusively confirmed to Claret and Hugh this evening that the club has received not a single inquiry or bid for captain Declan Rice.

It is widely assumed that the club’s prize asset will be on his way this summer with Arsenal being named as big favourites in many places.

Some have even suggested –  and of course it has been repeated on untrustworthy social media platforms – that the deal has already been done.

But that is not the case at all and no club will come in now until the summer although we understand that his agent/father Sean has been in touch with a number of clubs but that none have reacted.

It could have been expected for any to West Ham to be made during the last winter window following Dec’s fine World Cup performances but our top contact inside the club has explained there has been no approach at any time during Declan’s time with the club.

He explained: “Time will tell and if anything is going to happen that will be in the summer. But there has been nothing so far at any time although we believe his agent is busy talking to clubs.”

I think he will be gone this summer, which most fans would agree that will be the case.
I tough part is, I actually think we will go down if Moyes can’t get a tune out of the players and that means we will probably lose Rice at 50% of his true value, so lose-lose.
